Ukrainian Drone Attack on Kherson Kills 24 Civilians, Injures 50

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a Ukrainian drone attack on the Russian-controlled Kherson region resulted in significant civilian casualties early Thursday. Vladimir Saldo, the Russian-appointed governor of Kherson, reported that at least 24 people were killed and over 50 wounded when Ukrainian forces targeted a hotel and cafe with three explosive-laden drones.
Saldo stated on his official Telegram channel that preliminary data indicated one of the drones carried incendiary materials, triggering a massive fire that engulfed the building where civilians were celebrating the New Year. The blaze complicated rescue efforts, leading to higher casualties, including the death of a child.
The governor condemned the strike as a deliberate attack on civilians, emphasizing that the death toll may rise as emergency teams continue recovery operations. The incident marks one of the deadliest single attacks on civilians in the ongoing conflict.
