Palestinian Prisoner Dies in Israeli Custody Amid Reports of Harsh Conditions

A Palestinian prisoner, Hassan Issa Al-Qash’a from Rahat in the occupied Negev, has died in an Israeli detention facility in Be’er Sheva, as rights groups report worsening conditions for nearly 9,300 detainees.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Palestinian sources reported the death of Hassan Issa Al-Qash’a, a prisoner from Rahat in the occupied Negev, who was detained in Be’er Sheva by Israeli authorities. Al-Qash’a was scheduled for release in six months.

The incident occurs as Palestinian prisoner rights organizations highlight the deteriorating conditions faced by approximately 9,300 Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons, most held under administrative detention. Reports indicate reduced food and water rations, restricted family visits, and inadequate medical care.

Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has intensified pressure on Palestinian prisoners, a policy he reportedly spearheads. Palestinian and international organizations have condemned these measures as inhumane and a clear violation of international law.
