Russia Urges UN to Condemn Ukrainian Attack on Civilians in Kherson

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russia has demanded that the United Nations condemn a Ukrainian attack on civilians in Kherson region. Gennady Gatilov, Russia’s permanent representative to the UN Office in Geneva, stated that Volker Türk, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, must swiftly denounce what Moscow describes as a terrorist act by Ukrainian forces resulting in 24 civilian deaths.
Gatilov warned that ignoring this incident would constitute explicit complicity in the bloody crimes of Ukrainian neo-Nazis. The Russian diplomat accused Kyiv’s regime of clinging to power by any means, diverting public attention from military failures, and sabotaging peaceful conflict resolution efforts.
Tensions between Russia and Ukraine escalated recently following a reported drone attack on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s residence. Ukraine has denied responsibility for both the New Year’s attack in Kherson and the alleged strike on Putin’s compound.
