Palestinian Islamic Jihad Condemns Racist Remarks by Israeli Culture Minister

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement strongly denounced the statements made by Miki Zohar, the so-called Culture Minister of the Zionist regime, labeling them as a clear reflection of a racist and colonialist ideology. Zohar’s remarks, which claimed ownership of Gaza and the West Bank for the occupiers while referring to Palestinians as ‘guests,’ were described as an attempt to distort historical and geographical realities to advance annexation and forced displacement projects.
The movement stated that these claims are merely repetitions of old colonial lies, calling the desperate attempt to portray the rightful owners of the land as guests and the occupiers as owners both disgusting and pitiable. The Islamic Jihad emphasized that the truth of Palestine, from the ‘sea to the river’ (the Mediterranean Sea to the Jordan River), as an occupied land is undeniable, and the usurping regime has no legitimate documents to negate the Palestinian people’s historical ownership beyond baseless myths.
The statement also highlighted the stark contrast between the Palestinian people’s deep connection to their land and the transient nature of the settlers, who flee to embassy doors at the first sign of pressure. The movement reiterated that decades of Palestinian resistance and sacrifice stand as living proof of the true owners of the land.
Islamic Jihad further condemned Zohar’s rhetoric as not only a distortion of history but also an effort to promote hate speech and justify war crimes and ongoing occupation. The movement concluded by asserting the temporary nature of the occupiers’ presence, declaring, ‘We, the children of Palestine, are the true owners of this land, and the occupiers are merely fleeting strangers. History will prove that we are here to stay, while occupation is doomed to collapse sooner or later.’
