US Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene Criticizes Trump’s Interventionist Remarks on Iran

Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican Congresswoman from Georgia, has rebuked President Donald Trump’s recent comments suggesting US intervention in Iran, calling them contradictory to voter expectations.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Marjorie Taylor Greene, a US Representative from Georgia, has publicly criticized President Donald Trump’s interventionist remarks regarding Iran. Greene argued that Trump’s statements about potential US support for Iranian protesters contradict the mandate given to him by American voters.

This comes after Republican Congressman Thomas Massie of Kentucky also condemned Trump’s threats of intervention in Iran, asserting that the stance is more about oil than free speech. Massie outlined his criticisms in a numbered list posted on social media platform X, emphasizing that the US faces numerous domestic challenges and should not divert military resources to another country’s internal affairs. He stressed that any military action against Iran would require congressional approval and framed Trump’s rhetoric as being driven by economic and geopolitical interests, particularly oil and Israel.

Trump recently claimed on social media that the US would act in support of Iranian protesters if the Iranian government responded violently to demonstrations. His remarks were met with skepticism, given his previous response to widespread protests against him in the US, where he shared an AI-generated video depicting him bombing demonstrators with a ‘brown liquid’ while wearing a crown and riding a fighter jet.
