Global Reactions to US Military Strike on Venezuela: Russia Condemns, EU Monitors

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the US military strike on Venezuela has triggered a wave of international reactions, with key global powers expressing concern and condemnation. The European Union, Russia, Cuba, and other nations have called for restraint and emphasized the need to respect international law.
Kaja Kallas, the EU’s foreign policy chief, stated that the bloc is closely monitoring the situation and has reiterated its position that Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro lacks legitimacy. The EU has consistently supported a peaceful transition of power in Venezuela, Kallas added, stressing the importance of adhering to international law and the UN Charter.
Russia’s Foreign Ministry condemned the US strike, calling for an emergency UN Security Council meeting on Venezuela. Moscow emphasized that Latin America should remain a zone of peace and that Venezuela’s right to self-determination must be respected without foreign interference, particularly military intervention.
Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel denounced the US attack as criminal and called for an immediate international response. Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro urged all parties to avoid escalation and seek diplomatic solutions, while Italy and Germany also expressed deep concern over the developments.
In the US, Senator Brian Schatz questioned the justification for the strike, stating that Washington lacks vital interests in Venezuela warranting military action. Meanwhile, Yemen’s Ansarullah movement condemned the attack, labeling the US as the ‘head of evil and mother of terrorism.’
