Venezuela Demands Release of President Maduro Amid US Claims of Arrest

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Venezuela‘s Attorney General Tarek Saab has strongly condemned the reported abduction of President Nicolas Maduro and demanded his immediate release. The statement comes after Vice President Delcy Rodriguez confirmed that the government has no information on Maduro’s whereabouts.
Rodriguez issued an official statement today following US claims that Maduro and his wife had been arrested and removed from Venezuela. “We have no information about the President’s location,” she said, demanding proof of life for both Maduro and his wife.
Meanwhile, US Senator Mike Lee cited Secretary of State Marco Rubio, claiming that Maduro had been detained and would face criminal charges. These assertions followed President Donald Trump’s announcement of a successful large-scale operation against Venezuela, alleging Maduro’s arrest and extradition.
Caracas has accused Washington of attempting to install a puppet government to control Venezuela’s oil resources.
