France Condemns US Military Action Against Venezuela’s Maduro as Violation of International Law

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, France has strongly criticized the United States’ military operation targeting Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, labeling it a violation of international law. French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barroux stated on X that the operation, which led to Maduro’s arrest, contravenes the fundamental principle of non-use of force enshrined in international law.
Barroux emphasized that Paris reaffirms its stance that no sustainable political solution can be imposed externally, asserting that only the people of a nation have the right to determine their future. The statement comes after Venezuela’s Attorney General, Tariq Saab, condemned the abduction of the country’s president and called for his immediate release.
Saab held the US government responsible for Maduro’s safety and that of his wife, urging Venezuelan authorities to document alleged widespread human rights abuses during the operation. He also called on the United Nations and human rights organizations to intervene directly in the matter.
