Venezuela’s Constitutional Court Appoints Delcy Rodríguez as Interim President Amid Maduro’s Detention

Venezuela’s Supreme Constitutional Court has ordered Vice President Delcy Rodríguez to assume interim presidential powers following the detention of Nicolás Maduro in the United States, while Brazil’s Foreign Ministry recognizes her as the transitional leader.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Venezuela‘s Supreme Constitutional Court has directed Vice President Delcy Rodríguez to temporarily assume the powers of the presidency in the absence of Nicolás Maduro, who is currently detained in the United States. The court’s decision comes amid escalating tensions in the region.
Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has officially recognized Rodríguez as Venezuela’s transitional president during Maduro’s detention. The ministry further announced that Latin American and Caribbean nations will convene an emergency meeting to coordinate a unified response to the U.S. intervention in Venezuela.
