Protesters Attack US Embassy in Mexico City with Stones Amid Venezuela Tensions

Demonstrators in Mexico City hurled stones and defaced the walls of the US Embassy in protest against American actions in Venezuela, prompting the embassy to warn its staff and citizens to avoid the area.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the US Embassy in Mexico City issued a statement on its website urging staff to stay away from the diplomatic compound as protests against US actions in Venezuela escalated. Demonstrators gathered outside the embassy in the Polanco district, throwing stones and splashing paint on the building’s exterior walls.

The embassy noted that anti-American sentiments have been circulating on social media, warning that further protests could erupt unpredictably across Mexico. It advised its personnel and American citizens in the country to remain vigilant amid rising tensions.

The protests follow the US government’s controversial operation in Venezuela, which involved the reported abduction of the country’s president and his wife. Several nations have condemned Washington’s actions as violations of the UN Charter and international law.

As tensions escalate, Venezuelan Vice President has reaffirmed the country’s resistance against what he described as American imperialism, while Washington has threatened further measures against Caracas.
