Sudan Doctors Warn of Imminent Humanitarian Catastrophe in Al-Dalang

Medical professionals in Sudan have issued a dire alert about an impending health and humanitarian disaster in Al-Dalang, South Kordofan, as the city faces relentless bombardment and blockade by Rapid Support Forces.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Sudanese doctors have raised alarms over a looming humanitarian catastrophe in Al-Dalang, South Kordofan, amid continued siege and heavy bombardment by Rapid Support Forces. The Sudan Doctors Network, a non-governmental medical organization, stated in a release that the city endures daily intense shelling, resulting in civilian casualties. The group emphasized that the humanitarian situation inside Al-Dalang is deteriorating rapidly.

The network explained that disrupted communication lines have prevented an accurate count of victims. It warned that the ongoing blockade has triggered severe shortages of food, medical supplies, and essential healthcare equipment in hospitals, signaling an imminent health crisis.

Urging immediate intervention, the network called on humanitarian agencies and international organizations to lift the siege, ensure delivery of aid, and protect civilians and medical personnel. It accused Rapid Support Forces of systematically endangering women and children through starvation, malnutrition, and continuous attacks.

The appeal referenced the catastrophic scenario in El Fasher, North Darfur’s capital, urging global action to prevent a repeat. Recent weeks have seen violent clashes between Sudan’s army and Rapid Support Forces across Kordofan, displacing tens of thousands and worsening humanitarian conditions.
