US Military Equipment Transferred from Iraq to Erbil and Syria

A security source in Al-Anbar province reported that 150 trucks carrying US military personnel and equipment departed from the Ain al-Asad base, heading towards Syria’s al-Tanf and Erbil’s Harir bases, with the purpose of the transfer remaining unclear.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a security source in Iraq’s Al-Anbar province confirmed the departure of 150 trucks loaded with US military forces and equipment from the Ain al-Asad base in western Iraq. The convoy was observed moving towards al-Tanf base in Syria and Harir base in Erbil, located in northern Iraq.

The source noted that the purpose behind this transfer of troops and military hardware from Iraq to the Kurdistan region and Syria remains unspecified by US authorities.

This marks the second instance in recent months where US forces have evacuated the Ain al-Asad base. During the operation, unprecedented security measures were implemented along the al-Walid border crossing route. The movement coincided with flights by US-led coalition helicopters over the area.
