Hamas Leader Khalil Al-Hayya Honors Slain Deputy Saleh Al-Arouri on Second Anniversary of His Martyrdom

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Khalil Al-Hayya, the leader of Hamas in the Gaza Strip, issued a statement marking the second anniversary of the martyrdom of Saleh Al-Arouri, the late deputy head of Hamas’s political bureau. Al-Hayya described Al-Arouri as a martyred commander, scholar, and leader whose life embodied resilience, piety, and strategic acumen.
Al-Hayya emphasized that Al-Arouri was a founding figure of the military resistance and spent years in Israeli prisons, which forged his steadfastness and deep understanding of the Zionist regime’s policies and media landscape. Politically, Al-Arouri was noted for his intelligence and persistence, coupled with his expertise in Islamic jurisprudence.
As the deputy to Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh, Al-Arouri played a critical role in managing the movement’s domestic and international relations, particularly during Haniyeh’s tenure in Gaza. His influence extended to strengthening Hamas’s alliances across the Arab and Islamic world, solidifying the movement’s global network.
