UK Prime Minister Claims No Shed Tears Over Maduro’s Ouster Amid US Intervention in Venezuela

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer asserted that the British government did not mourn the end of Nicolas Maduro’s regime, following the US-led operation to extract Venezuela’s elected president to New York. London plans to discuss the evolving situation in Caracas with American counterparts in the coming days.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has reacted to the US intervention in Venezuela, which resulted in the extraction of the country’s elected president, Nicolas Maduro, and his wife to New York. Starmer claimed that the British government would engage in discussions with US counterparts regarding the rapidly changing political landscape in Caracas in the coming days.

Starmer labeled Maduro as ‘illegitimate’ and stated, ‘We did not shed tears for the end of his regime!’ The UK Prime Minister further alleged that London has long supported political change in Venezuela, without addressing the violation of international conventions in the overt intervention against a sovereign nation.

He added, ‘We consider Nicolas Maduro an illegitimate president and did not mourn the end of his regime.’
