Armed Attack in Nigeria Market Leaves 30 Dead, Several Abducted

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Nigerian police confirmed that an armed attack on a market in Niger State resulted in at least 30 fatalities and multiple abductions. The assault occurred around 4:30 PM local time in the Kasuwan Daji market of Dumo village, where assailants, referred to as bandits, torched stalls and stole food items.
Wasiu Abiodun, the Nigerian police spokesperson, stated that over 30 people lost their lives in the attack, with others taken hostage. Rescue efforts for the abducted individuals are ongoing.
Eyewitnesses reported that the attackers arrived on motorcycles and opened fire indiscriminately. The violence is believed to be part of a series of assaults that began on Friday in nearby villages of Agwara and Borgu.
This incident follows a separate attack weeks earlier, where armed men kidnapped over 300 students and staff from a Catholic school in central Nigeria. The victims were released after nearly a month in captivity.
