Philippines Urges U.S. to Adhere to International Law Following Venezuela Attack

The Philippines has called on the United States to respect international law and avoid escalating tensions after Washington’s military intervention in Venezuela, emphasizing the need for peace and stability in the region.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Philippines‘ Department of Foreign Affairs issued a statement expressing concern over the U.S. military action in Venezuela, urging Washington to uphold international legal principles and refrain from further escalation. The statement highlighted Manila’s call for restraint and adherence to the United Nations Charter to prevent further conflict.

The Philippines emphasized its respect for U.S. security considerations but stressed the importance of avoiding the use of force and non-interference in other nations’ affairs. The statement also urged all parties involved to exercise restraint and comply with international law to de-escalate tensions.

Global reactions have condemned Washington’s attack on Venezuela and the abduction of President Nicolás Maduro, labeling it a violation of the U.N. Charter. Analysts suggest that control over the region’s oil resources may be the ultimate motive behind the U.S. intervention.

Experts argue that the U.S. aims to pressure Caracas into submission through its aggressive actions, further destabilizing the already volatile political landscape in Venezuela.
