UK Foreign Secretary Affirms Greenland as Part of Denmark Amid US Interest

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab has reaffirmed that Greenland is an integral part of Denmark, emphasizing that its future must be determined jointly by Greenlanders and the Danish government. Raab stressed that no foreign entity has the right to decide Greenland’s political status.
The statement comes after US President Donald Trump suggested in an interview with The Atlantic that the US might seek to acquire Greenland, following its actions in Venezuela. Trump hinted that Caracas might not be the last target of Washington’s interventionist policies.
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen firmly rejected any US claims over Greenland or other Danish territories, asserting that the US has no legal right to annex or pressure sovereign territories under the Kingdom of Denmark.
