Leaked Documents Reveal UAE-Israel Intelligence Cooperation on Gaza and Qatar Surveillance

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, leaked documents linked to the UAE‘s intelligence organization have unveiled a significant level of covert cooperation between the United Arab Emirates and Israel’s Mossad. The documents detail joint espionage missions in Gaza and Qatar, carried out under direct instructions from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Arabic news sources that published the documents described Netanyahu’s directives to the UAE as “humiliating” and lacking “the spirit of cooperation between equal partners.” The orders reportedly demanded an expansion of Emirati intelligence operations in Gaza and Qatar, supported by advanced equipment provided by Israel, with a one-month deadline for delivering results.
The documents reveal that Israel sought a fivefold increase in the number of Emirati operatives and teams active in Qatar, which Tel Aviv views as particularly sensitive due to its perceived support for Hamas. Some UAE intelligence officials reportedly criticized the tone of Israel’s communications as condescending and offensive.
Emirati intelligence authorities expressed concern and surprise at the language used in Israeli correspondence, which they said did not reflect a relationship of equal partnership.
The leaked materials demonstrate that security and intelligence cooperation between Tel Aviv and several Arab capitals, particularly Abu Dhabi, has intensified in recent years.
The UAE’s relationship with Israel dates back decades of secret talks and security agreements. Following the normalization accords signed in 2020, this cooperation entered a more formal and extensive phase, with numerous reports documenting joint efforts against regional armed groups and intelligence sharing – aspects that these latest documents have further illuminated.
