US Allocates $2.7 Billion for Domestic Uranium Enrichment Development

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the US Department of Energy has allocated $2.7 billion to three companies to develop uranium enrichment facilities within the United States. The funding, announced in a statement on the department’s website, is intended to support the expansion of domestic enrichment infrastructure over the next decade.
Officials expect the investment to enhance national energy security by reducing dependence on foreign suppliers. The move comes amid ongoing global criticism of the US for restricting other nations to peaceful nuclear energy use while expanding its own capabilities. Multiple countries have protested the monopoly of peaceful nuclear technology by major powers and called for international mechanisms to address this imbalance.
