Lebanese President Accuses Israel of Sabotaging Ceasefire Efforts Amid Escalating Tensions
Lebanon’s President Joseph Aoun has stated that Israel’s continued attacks aim to undermine local, regional, and international efforts to de-escalate tensions, casting doubt on the upcoming ‘Mechanism Meeting’.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has accused Israel of deliberately continuing its attacks to thwart all attempts at achieving a ceasefire. Aoun emphasized that these actions create significant doubts ahead of the anticipated ‘Mechanism Meeting’.
The President asserted that Israel’s aggression persists despite Lebanon‘s formal engagement with various ceasefire initiatives at multiple levels. He called on the international community to intervene effectively to halt what he described as Israeli violations.
Aoun reiterated Lebanon’s demand for empowering the ‘Mechanism’ to carry out its assigned tasks with the agreement of relevant parties and international support.
