Israel Halts Sale of Old Tanks to Balkans and Latin America Amid Gaza War Damage and Manpower Shortage

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Israeli military has acknowledged significant damage to its tanks during the Gaza war, forcing Tel Aviv to cancel previously planned sales of older models to Balkan and Latin American nations. The Hebrew-language newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that the damaged tanks have not returned to operational cycle, creating an urgent need for these armored vehicles in Israel’s inventory.
The Israeli army is simultaneously grappling with a severe manpower crisis, compounding its operational challenges. Military officials confirmed that the decision to retain the older tanks was made due to their sudden strategic importance following the Gaza conflict, where many active-duty tanks sustained combat damage.
