Venezuelan Lawmaker Warns of Readiness Against US Intervention

Venezuela’s National Assembly member Juan Romero condemned US interference as blatant aggression, asserting the nation’s preparedness to defend sovereignty against any foreign threat.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Venezuelan lawmaker Juan Romero, a member of the National Assembly, has denounced US intervention in Venezuela as a clear act of aggression. In an interview with Al Mayadeen, Romero emphasized that the Venezuelan people stand ready to protect their sovereignty against any external threats.

Romero stated that Venezuela maintains the highest level of preparedness to reaffirm its historical stance against foreign interference, particularly following recent US aggression. He highlighted how free nations have consistently succeeded in challenging the hegemony of imperial powers, expressing confidence in Venezuela’s unity against potential challenges.

The lawmaker drew parallels between the attempted kidnapping of Nicolás Maduro and the abduction of Haiti’s former president, citing both as examples of superpowers using interventionist tactics. Romero condemned such actions as illegal violations against sovereign states.

Maduro previously warned that Venezuela would employ a prolonged people’s war strategy with nationwide participation if attacked. The country remains prepared to utilize all available means to safeguard its independence, Romero concluded.
