Israeli Forces Conduct Ground Incursion into Southern Syria

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli military vehicles breached the town of Saida in the Golan Heights, located near Quneitra in southern Syria, early today. Al Jazeera reported that Zionist forces set up a checkpoint at the western entrance of the town before eventually retreating to occupied territories.
This follows another incursion last Friday, when Israeli troops entered an abandoned military base in the Yarmouk Basin area of Daraa province under cover of darkness. Since December 8, 2024, immediately after the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s government, the Zionist regime has launched thousands of ground and air attacks on Syria, occupying parts of the country’s south.
Mohammed Al-Saeed, Quneitra’s information director, told Al Jazeera late last year that border villages in Quneitra, western Daraa countryside, and Damascus suburbs have witnessed over 1,500 infiltrations since Assad’s fall, accompanied by the arrest of more than 30 individuals.
Meanwhile, a source linked to the Golan-based regime in Syria yesterday revealed the start of new U.S.-mediated negotiations with Israel, focusing on reactivating the 1974 Separation of Forces Agreement.
