Israel Vows to Maintain Military Positions in Southern Lebanon, Threatens Attack on Dahieh

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli media, citing a security official, reported that the country’s military has no intention of vacating five recently occupied positions in southern Lebanon. The announcement comes ahead of a scheduled meeting of the ceasefire monitoring committee, known as the Mechanism Committee.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun confirmed the committee session is set for Wednesday, with representatives from Lebanon, Israel, UNIFIL, the U.S., and France in attendance. The Israeli security official emphasized there are no plans to dismantle these military outposts on Lebanese soil.
The Zionist-affiliated Walla news outlet further claimed Israeli forces have assassinated over 400 Hezbollah operatives since the November 2024 cessation of hostilities. The official warned Israel would attack Dahieh in southern Lebanon if necessary, stating they won’t allow security threats to accumulate.
Additional allegations suggest the Lebanese Army has increased cooperation with Hezbollah, concealing the group’s activities, with this intelligence reportedly shared with U.S. authorities. Neither Lebanon nor Hezbollah has responded to Israel’s latest statements.
