Somalia Condemns Israeli Foreign Minister’s Unauthorized Visit to Somaliland

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Somali Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement condemning the unauthorized visit of Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar to Hargeisa, the capital of Somaliland, which Somalia considers an inseparable part of its sovereign territory. The statement demanded that Israel immediately cease all actions undermining Somalia’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.
The Somali Foreign Ministry described Sa’ar’s visit as an illegal incursion and reaffirmed that Somalia is a sovereign nation whose territorial integrity cannot be compromised by foreign forces. It further warned that any violation of Somalia’s sovereignty constitutes an aggression against the African Union.
A diplomatic source in Somaliland confirmed that Sa’ar arrived in Hargeisa on Tuesday morning for his first official visit since Israel recognized the breakaway region’s self-declared independence. During the trip, Sa’ar is expected to meet with Somaliland’s leader, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi.
