UN Warns Tents Are Not a Sustainable Shelter Solution for Gaza

The United Nations has stated that tents cannot serve as the primary or sole shelter option for over a million displaced Gazans, emphasizing the need for urgent humanitarian aid. The UN also reiterated its call for an immediate ceasefire and civilian protection in Sudan.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, UN Secretary-General’s spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric addressed the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza during a press briefing on Tuesday. He highlighted that more than one million people in the Gaza Strip still require immediate shelter assistance, stressing that tents only offer temporary protection and cannot be the main solution.
Dujarric did not explicitly condemn the actions of the Israeli regime but emphasized the urgent need for sustainable shelter alternatives. He also renewed the UN’s call for an immediate ceasefire and the protection of civilians in Sudan, underscoring the dire humanitarian situations in both regions.
