US and Argentina Foreign Ministers Discuss Venezuela Developments in Phone Call

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Argentine Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno discussed recent developments in Venezuela during a phone call. The conversation included details about the January 3 operation aimed at detaining Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
Tommy Pigott, a spokesperson for the US State Department, stated that Rubio expressed gratitude to Quirno for Argentina’s continued cooperation in combating drug trafficking and enhancing regional security. Both sides emphasized the importance of bilateral cooperation in addressing regional security challenges.
Argentina remains one of the few Latin American nations maintaining close ties with the administration of US President Donald Trump. Most other Latin American countries have condemned Washington’s actions regarding the detention of Venezuela’s president.
