Fragile Calm Returns to Aleppo After Night of Intense Clashes Between Joulani-Linked Terrorists and SDF Forces

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, northern Syria’s Aleppo remains under tension after intense overnight clashes between terrorists linked to the Joulani regime and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), known as QSD, which resulted in 5 fatalities and 21 injuries. The Syrian Civil Aviation Authority suspended all inbound and outgoing flights at Aleppo International Airport for 24 hours, while the Aleppo governor announced closures of administrative and educational institutions, including schools and universities, alongside cancellations of all group activities.
Syrian news agency SANA previously reported that Tuesday’s residential building bombings in Aleppo’s Al-Midan neighborhood had increased the death toll to 5, including two women. Syrian state television later announced a second ceasefire between Kurdish forces and the Joulani regime following the previous night’s violence.
The clashes erupted after an SDF drone strike targeted the Sheihani Square area, prompting retaliatory accusations from the SDF, which blamed Joulani-affiliated groups for shelling the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood and the Deir Hafer district under their control. Joulani-linked forces accuse the SDF of delaying implementation of a prior agreement signed by Joulani leader Abu Mohammed al-Joulani and SDF commander Mazloum Abdi, which included merging civil and military institutions in northeastern Syria, reopening border crossings and oil fields, and reaffirming territorial integrity.
