China Condemns U.S. Pressure on Venezuela Over Oil as Bullying

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, China has denounced the United States’ efforts to pressure Venezuela into severing ties with Beijing and Moscow as an attempt to control the South American nation’s oil reserves. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning asserted that Venezuela, as an independent country, holds full and inalienable sovereignty over its natural resources.
Mao Ning criticized Washington’s overt use of force to demand control over Venezuela’s oil, calling it a manifestation of the ‘America First’ policy and an act of bullying. She emphasized that such actions severely violate international law and the rights of the Venezuelan people.
The U.S. had reportedly demanded that Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro cut diplomatic relations with China and Russia. Maduro refused to comply, leading to Washington’s alleged incursion into Venezuelan territory and his subsequent removal. Delcy Rodríguez, Maduro’s successor, has vowed to resist U.S. overreach.
