40 European Parliament Members Condemn US Attack on Venezuela

Nearly 40 members of the European Parliament have condemned the US military action against Venezuela, urging EU leaders to denounce President Donald Trump’s measures, while the Netherlands’ foreign minister raised concerns over international law violations.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, 37 members of the European Parliament have called on Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, and Josep Borrell, the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs, to condemn US President Donald Trump’s actions in Venezuela. The appeal was made in a statement issued by Danilo Dalla Valle, a member of the European Parliament.

Dutch Foreign Minister David van Weel also addressed the issue in a letter to the country’s parliament, stating that the US operation in Venezuela has raised serious questions about its compliance with international law.

The European Union has maintained a passive stance regarding the US attack on Venezuela and the abduction of the country’s President, Nicolás Maduro. In a statement, the regional body refrained from condemning the US’s blatant aggression against the sovereign nation, instead emphasizing the need to respect the Venezuelan people’s right to self-determination.
