Lebanon to Increase Military Forces Amid Rising Tensions with Israel

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has confirmed that the country will increase its military forces in the coming weeks. The announcement comes as tensions escalate following recent Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon, which have been condemned as further violations of the ceasefire.
President Aoun also stated that Lebanon would welcome any country’s decision to keep its forces in southern Lebanon after the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) completes its withdrawal by the end of 2027. This move is seen as a response to heightened security concerns in the region.
The Lebanese president’s remarks follow a recent statement by the Israeli military, which admitted to conducting multiple airstrikes in southern Lebanon. These actions have been widely viewed as another breach of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon, particularly affecting resistance groups such as Hezbollah.
