Syrian Democratic Forces Deny Military Presence in Aleppo as Civilian Casualties Rise

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have stated they have no military presence in Aleppo and have publicly withdrawn from the city under media scrutiny. The SDF further emphasized that they have handed over the security files of the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah neighborhoods to internal security forces, dismissing claims of planned military operations in these areas as false.
The SDF warned that continued military actions in Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah could lead to severe consequences beyond Aleppo. Meanwhile, the Syrian Defense Ministry accused the SDF of planting explosives on roads in these neighborhoods, preventing residents from leaving through gunfire and intimidation. The SDF is also alleged to have shelled Aleppo neighborhoods with mortars and heavy weaponry.
The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported that civilian injuries from the SDF’s targeting of residential areas in Aleppo have increased to 24. Additionally, Syria’s Civil Aviation Authority has extended the suspension of flights at Aleppo International Airport until 11 PM local time on Thursday.
