John Bolton Mocks Venezuelan Opposition Leader with Sarcastic Nobel Prize Advice

Former U.S. National Security Advisor John Bolton sarcastically suggested Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado give her Nobel Peace Prize medal to Donald Trump, while dismissing optimism about Venezuela’s oil industry recovery.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, John Bolton, the former U.S. National Security Advisor under President Donald Trump, made biting remarks about Venezuela’s political and economic crisis in an interview with Bloomberg. He stated he would be “the happiest person” if Nicolás Maduro’s government collapsed but dismissed claims of a quick recovery for Venezuela’s oil industry, calling such expectations detached from reality.

Bolton also sarcastically advised opposition leader María Corina Machado to surrender her Nobel Peace Prize medal to Trump, joking that the U.S. president might otherwise take it for himself. He referenced Theodore Roosevelt’s Nobel Prize, displayed in the White House, as a cautionary example.
