US Protesters Demand Trump’s Impeachment Following Fatal Immigration Police Shooting

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, protests have erupted in multiple US cities following the fatal shooting of an immigrant woman by immigration police. Demonstrators in Manhattan, New York, took to the streets chanting ‘No to deportations’ and demanding the removal of immigration enforcement officers from the city. Protesters also carried signs reading ‘We want regime change.’
In Alaska, crowds condemned President Trump’s immigration policies with chants of ‘Death to fascism,’ denouncing the killing, discrimination, and torture of immigrants. Seattle protesters called for the dissolution of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), rallying under the slogan ‘Power to the people.’
Thousands gathered in Minneapolis for a memorial service for Rene Nicole Good, the woman killed by immigration officers, chanting ‘ICE must go.’ Detroit protesters assembled outside the local ICE office to protest the shooting of another immigrant woman.
Michigan Senator Gary Peters, a Democrat, described the shooting as ‘horrific and avoidable,’ accusing the Department of Homeland Security of lying about the incident. ‘When the government can label anyone a terrorist, every American’s life is at risk,’ Peters stated.
The Minneapolis shooting during an immigration enforcement operation has sparked intense debate about excessive use of force by US police. While authorities claim the shooting was self-defense, Minneapolis’ mayor called it ‘unnecessary’ and indicative of dangerous changes in ICE tactics.
President Trump has fully supported the immigration police’s actions, framing the killing as self-defense. This comes as US media polls show over half of Americans disapprove of Trump’s mass deportation plans.
