EU Foreign Policy Chief Warns Greenland Issue Must Not Distract from Ukraine Crisis

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Kaja Kallas, the European Union’s foreign policy chief, emphasized that issues concerning Greenland should be addressed within the framework of NATO and should not distract the United States from the ongoing crisis in Ukraine. Kallas made the remarks in a post on X, highlighting that if Greenland’s security is at risk, it can be examined within NATO’s structures. She also warned that tariffs could impoverish Europe and America, undermining collective prosperity.
The US request to acquire Greenland has heightened tensions between Brussels and Washington. Earlier, former President Donald Trump’s peace proposal for Ukraine had already strained relations, with European leaders viewing it as favoring Russia. The people and government of Greenland, an autonomous territory of NATO member Denmark, have opposed the idea of annexation by the US.
