According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the European Union is holding an emergency meeting today, Sunday, in response to US President Donald Trump’s announcement of 10% tariffs on several European nations. The affected countries include Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, and Finland.
This move is linked to ongoing disputes over Greenland and Washington’s efforts to assert control over the region. European officials have condemned Trump’s threats as unacceptable.
In a joint statement on X, European Council President António Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen warned that Trump’s tariffs undermine transatlantic relations and risk escalating tensions further.
