PKK Leader Ocalan Expresses Concern Over Escalating Tensions Between SDF and Syrian Government Forces

Abdullah Ocalan, the imprisoned leader of the PKK, has voiced deep concern over the recent surge in clashes between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Syrian government troops, urging a return to peaceful dialogue.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Abdullah Ocalan, the jailed leader of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), issued a statement from Imrali Island prison on Sunday, expressing grave concern over the escalating tensions and recent developments in Syria between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and forces aligned with the Damascus government. Ocalan emphasized that adherence to the peace process requires taking necessary steps and advancing the dialogue forward.

He described the rising clashes and tensions as attempts to derail the peace process, stressing that resolving Syria’s issues is only possible through negotiation. Ocalan reiterated his readiness to assume responsibility in de-escalating the conflict and addressing it through peaceful means.

Furthermore, he called on all involved parties to act responsibly and cautiously, urging them to play a constructive role in reinforcing stability and advancing peace efforts. Ocalan’s statement comes amid rapid on-the-ground developments in Syria, including Syrian army advances in eastern and western Raqqa countryside and the imposition of curfews in newly controlled areas.
