PKK Leader Ocalan Expresses Concern Over Escalating Clashes Between SDF and Syrian Government Forces

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Abdullah Ocalan, the jailed leader of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), issued a statement from Imrali Island prison on Sunday, expressing grave concern over the escalating clashes between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and forces loyal to the Damascus government. Ocalan emphasized that adherence to the peace process requires concrete steps and forward momentum.
In his statement, Ocalan described the recent surge in violence as an attempt to derail peace efforts in Syria. He stressed that resolving the country’s conflicts is only possible through dialogue and negotiation, reiterating his readiness to take responsibility for de-escalating tensions and addressing issues through peaceful means.
The PKK leader called on all parties involved to act with responsibility and play a constructive role in strengthening stability and advancing peace initiatives. His statement comes amid rapid developments on the ground in Syria, including advances by Syrian army forces in the eastern and western outskirts of Raqqa and their entry into several tactically significant towns and villages, alongside the imposition of curfews in newly controlled areas.
