Fire at Karachi Shopping Mall Leaves 5 Dead, 20 Injured

A fire at the Gul Plaza shopping mall in Karachi has resulted in five fatalities and 20 injuries, with rescue operations ongoing and the building at risk of collapse.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a fire broke out on the first floor of the Gul Plaza shopping mall in Karachi, a densely populated area of the city, leaving five people dead and 20 others injured. Initial reports indicate that the blaze was caused by an electrical short circuit in one of the shops.

Rescue officials stated that as of Sunday morning, approximately 30% of the fire had been contained. Twenty firefighting teams are currently working to extinguish the flames, but the building remains at high risk of collapse.

Earlier reports had cited three fatalities and seven injuries, but the toll has since risen. Local authorities have launched an investigation into the incident to determine further details.
