Masoud Barzani Calls for Ceasefire in Syria Amidst QSD-Julani Clashes

Masoud Barzani, leader of Iraq’s Kurdistan Democratic Party, has urged an immediate halt to hostilities in Syria’s ongoing conflict, following a high-level meeting involving U.S. and Syrian Democratic Forces officials.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Masoud Barzani, President of Iraq’s Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), has called for an end to clashes between Syrian government forces and the Syrian Democratic Forces (QSD). Barzani emphasized the need to adhere to prior agreements aimed at resolving conflicts and achieving stability among Syrian factions.

Barzani revealed that a significant joint meeting was held yesterday between U.S. President Donald Trump’s special envoy for Syria and the commander-in-chief of the QSD, as part of efforts to address the crisis. He expressed hope for a cessation of hostilities and tensions in the region.

The KDP leader also welcomed Julani’s stance on Kurdish rights in Syria, describing it as a positive step forward. Meanwhile, Syrian television reported that Mazloum Abdi, commander of the QSD, arrived in Damascus for talks with Julani and U.S. envoy Tom Barak.
