PKK Leader Ocalan Expresses Concern Over Escalating Tensions Between SDF and Syrian Government Forces

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Abdullah Ocalan, the jailed leader of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), has issued a statement from Imrali Island prison expressing grave concern over the escalating tensions between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the new government forces in Damascus. Ocalan emphasized that adherence to the peace process requires necessary steps to advance negotiations, warning that the recent surge in violence threatens to derail diplomatic efforts.
In his statement, Ocalan described the clashes as an attempt to sabotage the peace process and reiterated that Syria’s conflicts can only be resolved through dialogue. He reaffirmed his readiness to take responsibility for de-escalating tensions and addressing the issue through peaceful means. The PKK leader also called on all involved parties to act with caution and responsibility to strengthen stability and advance peace efforts.
Ocalan’s remarks come amid rapid developments on the ground in Syria, including the Syrian army’s advances in the eastern and western outskirts of Raqqa and the imposition of curfews in newly controlled areas.
