Washington Post Reports at Least One-Quarter of US Missiles in Nigeria Failed

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a Washington Post report citing informed sources indicates that at least one-quarter of Tomahawk cruise missiles fired by the United States at targets in Nigeria were unsuccessful. The American newspaper further assessed the effectiveness of other missiles launched during the operation as unclear.
The report underscores the ineffectiveness of Washington’s missile strikes in Nigeria, suggesting they reveal constraints in US military power. The Post had previously attributed President Donald Trump’s decision to refrain from action against the Islamic Republic to the Pentagon’s inability to track Iranian missiles.
Last month, the US attacked Nigeria under the pretext of combating ISIS. Both the Nigerian government and its people condemned the action as a violation of their sovereignty.
