White House Announces Formation of ‘Peace Council’ as Part of Trump’s Gaza War-Ending Plan

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the White House announced the formation of a ‘Peace Council’ on Friday, a body tasked with strategically overseeing the execution of a 20-point plan aimed at achieving lasting peace, stability, and economic development in Gaza. The council, chaired by President Donald Trump, includes prominent figures such as U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, and Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law.
The Peace Council will work alongside the ‘Gaza Executive Council,’ which supports the High Representative for Gaza and the Palestinian National Committee for Gaza Administration. The latter, led by former Palestinian Deputy Minister of Planning Ali Shaath, is responsible for daily governance, civil institution rehabilitation, and infrastructure rebuilding in Gaza.
Key regional and international figures, including Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Qatari diplomat Ali Al-Thawadi, and former UN envoy Nikolay Mladenov, have been appointed to these bodies. Mladenov, as the High Representative for Gaza, will ensure coordination between the Peace Council and local governance structures.
The U.S. has also appointed General Jasper Jeffers to command an international stabilization force tasked with ceasefire monitoring, disarmament, and civilian protection. The initiative aligns with UN Security Council Resolution 2803 (2025), which endorses Trump’s plan and welcomes the Peace Council as a mechanism for advancing Gaza’s reconstruction.
Several Arab nations, including Saudi Arabia and Jordan, have expressed support for the initiative, emphasizing the need for a two-state solution and early improvements in living conditions for Palestinians.
