President Trump Criticizes Minneapolis Mayor Over Immigration Policy Stance

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump criticized Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey on Wednesday via his social media platform, Truth Social, after Frey stated the northern city “does not and will not” enforce federal immigration laws.
President Trump expressed surprise at Frey’s remarks, noting they had previously held “a very good conversation” following the deaths of two Minneapolis residents during widespread anti-immigration operations by federal security personnel.
“Can someone close to him explain that these statements are a serious violation of the law and he’s playing with fire?” Trump wrote.
Meanwhile, Mayor Frey announced that some federal agents had begun withdrawing from the city, vowing to continue pressuring the federal government until all forces depart.
NBC News reported that federal border patrol units would partially withdraw from Minneapolis following public outcry over their presence.
White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt, in an apparent retreat from earlier positions, stated that no one in the administration, including President Trump, wants to see further casualties on American streets. She warned protesters against prolonged demonstrations, emphasizing Trump’s desire to end the chaos.
