Lebanon’s Foreign Minister Rules Out Military Solution with Israel, Calls for Diplomatic Approach

Lebanese Foreign Minister Youssef Ragi emphasized that Lebanon cannot militarily counter Israel due to the imbalance of power, advocating for diplomatic solutions to address security and sovereignty issues.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Lebanese Foreign Minister Youssef Ragi stated that Lebanon lacks the military capability to confront Israel, citing a significant disparity in power. Speaking at a conference titled ‘Lebanon’s Position in Rapid Regional and International Developments,’ Ragi outlined the country’s current political and military realities.

Ragi stressed that resolving security issues through military means is unfeasible and called for a return to full state authority and economic reforms to garner international support. He criticized inflammatory statements and ideological rhetoric, urging practical action to prevent further delays.

The Foreign Minister highlighted key priorities, including the withdrawal of Israeli forces from border areas, an end to drone attacks in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley, the release of Lebanese prisoners, and the safe return of displaced civilians. He asserted that these goals can only be achieved through diplomacy.

Ragi also pointed to the challenges Lebanon faces following Hezbollah’s unilateral involvement in what he termed a ‘support war,’ which has imposed difficult ceasefire conditions on the government.
