Iraq’s Nouri al-Maliki Condemns US Interference Following Trump Veto

Nouri al-Maliki, head of Iraq’s State of Law Coalition, has denounced what he called blatant US interference in Iraq’s internal affairs, particularly regarding the selection of the prime ministerial candidate.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Nouri al-Maliki, leader of Iraq‘s State of Law Coalition, has condemned the United States for what he described as overt interference in Iraq’s domestic matters. His remarks came in response to President Donald Trump’s veto concerning the nomination process for Iraq’s prime minister.

Al-Maliki stated that Iraq firmly opposes any external meddling in its sovereign decisions, particularly those related to the Coordination Framework’s selection of a prime ministerial candidate. He emphasized that dialogue, not dictation or threats, should govern international relations.

The Iraqi leader reaffirmed his commitment to respecting national will and pursuing Iraq’s supreme interests in line with the Coordination Framework’s decisions. This strong stance follows Trump’s controversial veto regarding al-Maliki’s potential premiership.
