Russia and Iran Assess Positive Trajectory in Bilateral Trade Relations

Senior diplomats from Russia and Iran have evaluated the development of trade relations between the two nations as positive, citing the implementation of a free trade agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union as a key driver.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Pankin and his Iranian counterpart Hamid Qanbari, responsible for economic diplomacy, held a meeting on Wednesday to discuss the progress in Tehran-Moscow relations. The Russian and Iranian officials jointly assessed the dynamics and outlook of their trade relations as favorable.

The Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement highlighting that the approval of the free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and Iran has served as a significant catalyst for this positive development. The ministry further noted that the implementation of this agreement, along with Iran’s observer status in the Eurasian Economic Union, has facilitated the growing economic partnership between the two countries.
