Iraq’s Hezbollah Warns Against US Interference in Baghdad’s Internal Affairs

Iraq’s Hezbollah Brigades have issued a stern warning against US President Donald Trump’s interference in Iraq’s internal political affairs, particularly regarding the potential premiership candidacy of Nouri al-Maliki.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Iraq‘s Hezbollah Brigades have strongly condemned US President Donald Trump’s recent remarks on Iraq’s internal political affairs. The group warned that Washington’s interference aims to place Iraq under its trusteeship rather than targeting any specific individual.

The warning came after President Trump claimed that Iraq would make a grave mistake by re-electing Nouri al-Maliki as prime minister, threatening to cut off US aid to Baghdad if al-Maliki were chosen. The Hezbollah Brigades emphasized that the US stance represents an attempt to undermine Iraq’s sovereignty.

The group’s statement, reported by Al Jazeera and cited by Mehr News Agency, stressed that American intervention in Iraq’s domestic affairs is unacceptable and violates international norms. The warning highlights growing tensions between Iraqi factions and the US administration over Iraq’s political future.
