Hezbollah Official Warns US Military Strike on Iran Could Ignite Regional Volcano

A senior Hezbollah official has cautioned that a potential US military attack on Iran, even if miscalculated, would trigger a volcanic eruption across the region, while accusing Washington of persistently targeting Tehran for its sovereign decisions.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Nawaf al-Mousavi, Hezbollah‘s head of natural resources and borders, issued a stark warning during an exclusive interview with Al-Mayadeen TV: “America may launch a military strike against Iran due to miscalculations, but such an action would activate a volcano in the region.”

Al-Mousavi asserted that Iran has consistently faced Western targeting whenever it exercised independent decision-making. He emphasized that since the Islamic Revolution, the US has relentlessly pursued the overthrow of Iran’s government, utilizing Israel to bear the brunt of bloody confrontations.

The Hezbollah official presented Washington with a binary choice: “America either seeks reconciliation with Iran or aims to attack its government.” While acknowledging the US capability to strike militarily, he deemed it impossible for such action to topple Iran, noting Washington’s fundamental dilemma: “What happens after the attack?”

Drawing parallels to Venezuela, al-Mousavi cited America’s “decapitation strategy” against President Nicolás Maduro while preserving governmental structures. Regarding Lebanon, he accused the US of occupation, citing illegal military equipment deliveries to Beirut Airport in violation of civil aviation laws.

When questioned about Hezbollah’s potential response to US aggression against Iran, al-Mousavi adopted a strategic stance: “We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it,” while emphasizing Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah’s calculated, phased approach to conflict management.
