Iraqi Coalition Condemns Trump’s Interference in Government Formation

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Development and Reform Coalition in Iraq‘s parliament, headed by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, has declared that the formation of Iraq’s government is a strictly national process. The coalition emphasized in a statement that the government’s legitimacy stems from transparent elections reflecting the will of the Iraqi people.
The statement underscored Iraq’s commitment to positive relations with allied nations, particularly the U.S., but stressed that such ties must be based on mutual respect. The coalition’s remarks came in response to President Trump’s controversial stance against the potential candidacy of Nouri al-Maliki for prime minister, which has sparked widespread criticism in Iraq.
